Type 5000
The series 5000 comprises a total of 352 carriages.
The bodywork, bogies and mechanics in general of the series 5000 carriages are all very
similar. The body structure is little lighter in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th series than in the 1st. In
the 4th series polyester walls have been used with a different shape to the first two.
All the series 5000 carriages came originally with a forced ventilation system, with the
vents located below the seats. Later, air conditioning and heating was systematically installed in
the series 5000 carriages, all of which have now been fitted with these systems.
The series 5000 carriages have ATP and ATO, as well as radiotelephone and public address
systems.
