There are currently 132 carriages in the series.
The body of the series 6000 units is made of steel plated copper with four doors on each side
for passenger access/exit. For the first time, Metro de Madrid has introduced the new feature of
interconnection between carriages.
The series 6000 units are equipped with air-conditioning and heating. They have auxiliary
systems control equipment, equipment to register the safety parameters whilst the train is in
movement and an IRIS passenger information system. They also have a video-surveillance system, as
well as a public address system and radiotelephony. Likewise they are equipped with train
protection systems (ATP and ATO).
