Metro de Madrid

The extensions carried out in the Metro network since 1995, within the city of Madrid and, in the last four years, its expansion to the municipalities in the region, have made Metro de Madrid a benchmark in the sector. This leading position has given rise to repeated requests from entities outside Metro de Madrid's technical services.

In practice, these activities constitute an exportation of the know-how that Metro de Madrid has acquired throughout its long experience in design, development, commissioning and operation of a wide range of railway facilities and rolling stock for different means of urban guided transport: heavy underground rail, light rail transit and trams.

However external activities can only be justified if they serve to increase the know-how of the organisation, if they provide added value to Metro de Madrid users and give prestige to the organisation and to Madrid.

In order to ensure fulfilment of these requirements for external activities, we are developing new capabilities in order to take part in the following types of projects:

A. Concession tenders in Spain and in other leading countries
B. Provision of comprehensive services to other Administrations and public bodies, to ensure the success of the construction and operation (or expansion) of a city's metropolitan railway.
C. Institutional reinforcement actions to other Administrations and public bodies to support the implementation of comprehensive services using as reference Metro de Madrid's expansion and operations model.
