Our Commitment

Metro de Madrid's main objective is to continue being the most socially viable rail transport company in the metropolitan area of Madrid.

With this in mind, we continue to work to improve the services provided to Metro de Madrid's customers. Specifically, therefore, we are making a great effort to ensure that the Network Expansion and Improvement and Remodelling Plans are carried out in accordance with the proposed schedules, with the minimum inconvenience for users and taking advantage of the opportunities arising both within and outside the Region of Madrid in order to strengthen our know-how and competitiveness.

Our challenge: to be the most socially profitable mobility option

The backbone of each and every one of Metro de Madrid's actions is aimed at becoming a sustainable transport system in three aspects: economic, social and environmental.

The growing awareness, both in the Public Administrations and among citizens, of the need to improve mobility management has been materialised in a firm decision to support public transport, in general, and the Underground, in particular, due to its low social-economic costs.

This has led to significant growth of the Network during the last few years, during which time Metro's role in guaranteeing a sustainable transport service in the region has become more and more decisive.

To be the mobility option that comes closest to meeting customer expectations

Metro de Madrid is committing to an image of modernity, progressive technology and safety referenced to the service provided to citizens, which has been materialised in our contribution, during recent years, to expansion plans and in the renovation and optimisation of its network, both in terms of infrastructure and rolling stock. Furthermore, we have also centred our attention in the area of company personnel, providing staff with the means of improving their working conditions and updating their know-how and the technical means necessary to carry out their assigned duties.

Metro currently has several projects underway that involve significant changes in management style, in order to achieve a customer-oriented organisation and satisfy the level of quality demanded. In this sense, Metro de Madrid's most important actions are designed to achieve:

- More and better service: increasing the number of places with a higher number of trains in order to give passengers more space, improving the travel experience by offering complementary services (mobile telephony, customer care and information centres, commercial agencies, Canal Metro Madrid, etc.).

- Safer travelling: improving train and facilities maintenance procedures.

- Better stations that are more spacious and accessible: throughout our facilities, adapting them the users' needs.
