The Blue Card is a personal travel pass that consists of an accreditative card containing the holder’s ID details and a magnetic ticket that costs 5.50 €. This monthly pass allows the holder to make un unlimited number of trips during the calendar month on the bus, metro and light rail services provided by the Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT), Metro de Madrid (zone A) and Metro Ligero de Madrid (ML1: Pinar de Chamartín-Las Tablas), respectively.

The Blue Card is aimed at senior citizens (over the age of 65) and disabled people who meet certain economic requirements, and therefore it can only be purchased subject to proof of fulfilment of the necessary conditions at the Municipal Citizen Service Offices (Oficinas Municipales de Atención al Ciudadano) and at the Citizen Service Office (Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano) located at the EMT headquarters (Calle Cerro de la Plata, 4).

These tickets WILL NOT BE ISSUED IN THE MADRID METRO NETWORK, although damaged or deteriorated monthly tickets may be exchanged for pre-printed tickets at the following stations:

Sol
Oporto
Nuevos Ministerios
O’Donnell
Ciudad Universitaria
Legazpi
Puerta del Sur
