The Community of Madrid is reinforcing the Metro and EMT service on account of the San Isidro fiestas

Metro will increase the service on Lines 2 and 5 and on Ramal Ópera - Príncipe Pío by up to 175%. Reinforcement of the EMT will affect Lines 17, 18, 23, 25, 34, 35, 36, 62, 116, 119 and 148. Service on Underground Lines 9B, 1 and 10 will also be reinforced due to the fiestas of Rivas Vaciamadrid and the Real Madrid - Celta de Vigo football match. The service reinforcements will take place on 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 May

Through the Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM), the Community of Madrid has coordinated special public transport arrangements for the coming 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 May on account of the holding of the Fiestas of San Isidro. The set of special arrangements envisages reinforcements of the EMT bus and Metro line services most affected to assure access and mobility in the surroundings of Pradera de San Isidro and in the city centre.

Reinforcement of the Metro service will affect Lines 2 and 5 and Ramal Ópera - Príncipe Pío and reach as much as 175%, in the case of Underground Line 2 so as to meet user demand. In this way, reinforcement of Line 2 will take place during the fiesta evenings-nights, with a maximum service increase between 12 midnight and 1 a.m. on the night of 14-15 May.

For its part, the reinforcement of Line 5 will comprise a large proportion of the day, reaching a maximum of 88% from 12 midnight to service closure during the night of 15-16 May, while the number of trains on Ramal Ópera - Príncipe Pío will be doubled during all the days of the festivities from 10 p.m. to service closure.

As regards municipal buses, the service will be reinforced on 11 EMT lines: 17 (Plaza Mayor – Parque Europa), 18 (Plaza Mayor – Villaverde Cruce), 23 (Plaza Mayor – El Espinillo), 25 (Ópera – Casa de Campo), 34 (Cibeles – Las Águilas), 35 (Plaza Mayor – Carabanchel Alto), 36 (Atocha – Campamento), 62 (Príncipe Pío – Los Puertos), 116 (Embajadores – Villaverde Cruce), 119 (Atocha – Barrio Goya) and 148 (Callao – Puente de Vallecas).

In the morning of Saturday 12 May, the reinforcement will consist of an extra bus for Lines 25 and 34. That same day, in the afternoon, the increase will rise to eight buses for Lines 17, 23, 25, 34, 35 and 116. On the following day, Sunday 13 in the morning, the service will be reinforced with as many as 11 buses for all these lines, barring the 62, the 116 and the 148, and in the afternoon 17 extra buses will be in service on ten of these eleven lines (except the 148). On Monday 14 one bus will be added to each line affected in relation to a normal Monday, and on Tuesday 15, San Isidro Day, the service increase in the afternoon/evening will consist of as many as 25 buses on 11 lines.
Apart from the special arrangements for San Isidro, Metro Madrid is also going to reinforce Line 9B, which will reach an increase in the train service on 11, 12 and 14 May of 100% between 11 p.m. and midnight on Saturday 12 May on account of the festivities that will take place in the municipality of Rivas Vaciamadrid.

On 12 May too, to provide service for all those users wishing to watch the Real Madrid - Celta de Vigo first division football match at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium at 8.45 p.m., the service on Line 10 will be stepped up by as much as 55% between 11 p.m. and midnight. Similarly, the number of trains on Line 1 will be increased at the end of the game.
