The Regional Government of Madrid launches a project for the quick sale of single and ten-journey Metro tickets.

As of next Monday, the new ticket machines will be located in Pacífico, Conde de Casal and Atocha Renfe Metro stations. This system is aimed at making the purchase of tickets easier for passengers who are not regular users of the underground

Starting this coming Monday, 1 October, the Regional Government of Madrid will be putting into place a pilot project for the quick sale of single and ten-journey tickets in Pacífico, Conde de Casal and Atocha Renfe Metro stations, aimed at simplifying the purchase of tickets by passengers who are not regular users of the underground.

The new ticket vending machines can be identified by their colour, which is white and red, in contrast to the rest of the machines painted in white and blue. In addition, signs will be posted to help locating them.
These machines enable the sale of single and ten-journey tickets and the Multi public transport card, if a passenger needs it. Quick ticket machines do not provide for the purchase of 30-day season tickets or tourist tickets.

If this pilot project works and achieves the objectives established of optimising the purchase of tickets by users, Metro will take yet another step in that direction and will extend the service to other stations in the underground network.

AEROPUERTO T1-T2-T3 AND AEROPUERTO T4

This initiative is additional to others already implemented by the company to streamline the sale of tickets. In fact, for several months the Aeropuerto T1 - T2 - T3 and Aeropuerto T4 stations have had a number of quick ticket machines, which were also installed for the purpose of improving the time involved in ticket purchases.

The quick sale functionality of these machines makes it possible to purchase the Multi public transport card, single tickets to the passenger’s station of destination, ten-journey tickets and the airport extra charge.
