Metro de Madrid has sold second-hand rolling stock to the Buenos Aires metro network to be used in its Line B. Metro has also advised on train traffic with the installation of rigid catenary on Line B.

A total of 109 cars and their spares were sold between 2011 and 2015.

Main scopes of the project:

• Disposal of Metro de Madrid rolling stock

• Upgrading of the rolling stock to the characteristics of Buenos Aires Subway Line B

• Startup of the rolling stock on the line

• Training of Metrovías and SBASE personnel to maintain and operate the rolling stock

• Programming, monitoring and control of the state of the assembly of the catenary on Line B

• Study of the existing traction feed system, and improvements to be implemented following incorporation of the new rolling stock

• Studies to optimise Line B traffic involving the different existing rolling stock
