Description of works

These works are part of the line 3 extension project being carried out by the Community of Madrid to link the Villaverde Alto and El Casar stations in Getafe. This will be the second connection of the capital's underground network with MetroSur, together with the one that already exists at Puerta del Sur (L10 and 12).

As a result of the construction of this new link and due to the configuration of the track equipment, it is necessary to extend the tunnel by approximately 65 metres. The work to be undertaken involves, among other things, the dismantling of existing installations (communications, electrification or energy, etc.) as well as the dismantling of the existing tracks and their subsequent reinstatement.

Date

From August 24 2022.

Description of works

The service between San Fernando de Henares and Hospital de Henares stations, on line 7, will be temporarily suspended from 24 August to carry out work to strengthen the infrastructure and the terrain affected, ensuring its stability and resolving the problems caused by water filtration on this section of line.

The Regional Government constantly uses control and evaluation mechanisms to guarantee the safety of the Metro network at all times. In this case, the latest reports drawn up by the technicians advised the closure of the stations affected as a precautionary measure, in order to carry out the necessary repair work as soon as possible.
