L7, la Dehesa de la Villa

From Francos Rodríguez and Valdezarza (L7) stations, you can access the Dehesa de la Villa. This park, which can be considered a real forest in the city, stands out for the presence of an important variety of birds, with up to 70 different species being sighted here. 

The most common trees are pines, mainly stone pines and Aleppo pines, as well as almond, acacia, poplar, ash and elm trees. The gardens are mainly planted with cedar and plum trees. A perfect place to lose yourself in nature. 

L8, Juan Carlos I Park

The Juan Carlos I is an ideal place for outdoor sports as it has a large skating rink, a lake and an estuary where you can practice water sports, a cycle lane and even a free bicycle rental service.

Opened to the public in 1992 on the occasion of the celebration of “Madrid European Capital of Culture”, its more than 160 hectares also house an olive grove, an auditorium, open-air sculptures and an activity centre. It is next to Feria de Madrid (L8) station. 
 

L9, Berlin Park 

From Concha Espina (L9) station you can get to Berlin Park, a space with ornamental fountains, children's areas and recreational areas, named after its proximity to the German School and the visit to Madrid in 1967 of the then mayor of Berlin, Willy Brandt. 

The park houses a monolith in honour of the city that was paid for by German residents in Madrid and, when the Berlin Wall came down, the fragments of the wall given to Spain to symbolise the solidarity of the cities with the country found their best place of exhibition here. 

L10, Casa de Campo 

It is by far the largest public park in Madrid, thanks to its more than 1,500 hectares of surface area. Its history dates back to Felipe II's decision to move the Court to Madrid, when the king wanted to create an estate linking the Palace with the hunting grounds of El Pardo. With the arrival of the Second Republic, the space was definitively donated to the people of Madrid and has been open to the public ever since. 

It is an urban park but with a strong forest character. Inside there are several facilities, such as the Lake, the Cable Car, the Amusement Park, the Zoo and various pavilions and sports facilities. 

In addition to the station that bears its name, Casa de Campo (L5, L10), you can get there from Batán (L10), Lago (L10), Príncipe Pío (L6, L10, Ramal) and Puerta del Ángel (L6). 

L11, Madrid Río 

The Madrid Río park will give its name to the future L11 station, planned for 2028, which will be located on Paseo de las Yeserías in the Spanish capital. It is a large space that runs parallel to the Manzanares River and which, thanks to its renaturalisation, has recovered its unique fauna. The park also has historicalmonuments and a wide range of cultural and leisure activities for all ages, including the large Madrid Río beach.

Until the new station is ready, you can get there from the following stations:  Almendrales (L3), Legazpi (L3, L6), Marqués de Vadillo (L5), Pirámides (L5), Príncipe Pío (L6, L10, R), Puerta del Ángel (L6), Usera (L6). 
 

L12, Polvoranca Park

Located in Leganés, the Polvoranca Park covers an area of some 150 hectares around the Recomba stream and the Mari Pascuala and Los Sisones lagoons. In addition to themed gardens, it houses an arboretum, a botanical garden and an Environmental Education Centre. 

Set on the site of the ancient village of Polvoranca, which arose during the Middle Ages, the current park began to be built in 1986 on what used to be a cereal cultivation area. The nearest station is Leganés Central (L12).
