A Metro trip through the parks with almond trees in full bloom
From the Metro stations, you can explore and access some of the most incredible parks at this time of year. They are currently at their peak of flowering period, but you have to hurry because it only lasts a few days. Let's start with the most central one.
In Retiro Park, next to the Paseo de Fernán Núñez, is the Huerto del Francés, which is home to nearly 300 almond trees. Today, this space, rehabilitated in 1997, is one of the most beautiful places to contemplate this spectacle of nature. You can get there using the station named after the park.
On line 5, you can stop at Suanzes station, at La Quinta de los Molinos. This is the park par excellence to see almond trees and also the most well known for it. And no wonder, it is a historic garden of 21 hectares with more than 6,000 almond trees blossoming in shades of pink and white at the same time. A real treat for your eyes!
Without leaving line 5, you can get to Casa de Campo, although you can also get there using Lago station, on line 10. There you can find another huge park, the largest in the Spanish capital, with a surface area of more than 1,722 hectares. On the botanical trail, you will find a path full of all kinds of species, where you can also enjoy the flowers of the almond trees.
And finally, if you arrive at Príncipe Pío station, in the area of Madrid Río, very close to Puente del Rey and the path that goes up to the Casa de Campo lake, you will find the Huerta de la Partida. There, among the different fruit trees, the almond and hazelnut trees stand out, which are in full bloom at this time of the year.
With Metro de Madrid, you have access to these wonderful places where spring comes to life! Don't miss it!
