Get on board the Christmas train!
The Christmas train is already running on line 6: lights, colours and elves greet passengers on their commute. Don't miss a single detail! Until 6 January, it will try to bring the magic of the festive season to children and adults alike. Until 24 December, it will travel with Father Christmas' elves and Father Christmas, and from 25 December onwards, with the pages of Their Majesties the Three King from the East.
We will inform of the approximate route of the train on our X account so that passengers who want to get on can find out in advance.
In addition, this year there are many more novelties as we have organised passes in advance with schools in the Community of Madrid, from 25 November to 19 December, in Moncloa. The Christmas Classroom has been set up there, with magic shows in three daily sessions. Afterwards, the schoolchildren, accompanied by elves, will board the train and enjoy the trip to Nuevos Ministerios.
Also, as a new feature this season, a Nativity Scene will be on display at the Ópera station, assembled by the Association of Nativity Scene Makers of Madrid. From 5 December, this Nativity Scene will adorn the Arch of the Aqueduct of Amaniel, kept in the Museum of the Caños del Peral. The large statues come from the well-known Olot School of Landscape Painting in Girona, and depict the Holy Family and the Adoration of the Magi with great emotion.
OUR MUSEUMS ALSO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
Additionally, on the 20th, a concert will take place in the Nave de Motores de Pacífico by the Atlántida Brass brass band. It will last 60 minutes and they will perform a wide repertoire of Christmas and popular music. To access this recital, which is also free of charge, please book on the following link: https://museosmetromadrid.es
An exhibition of models of historical rolling stock will be held in the same space from 6 December. Specifically, a reproduction of the classic rolling stock, a Cuatro Caminos model at 1:14 scale, and another six at 1:20 scale of classic cars, made by students of the Higher Degree in Modelling and Model Making of the Escuela Pública de Diseño ArteDiez will be on display.
Also, from the 20th and by prior reservation, it will be possible to try out the historical simulator in the Chamartín exhibition of classic trains. The experience will consist of a tour of the stations of the inaugural section in the first train to run on the Madrid underground.
