Historic feats in the heart of Metro
06/09/22 - Current affairs remind us again and again of mankind's interest in setting foot on the Moon again, or for the first time on Mars, in the not too distant future. They may seem like the biggest milestones ever proposed by mankind but one only has to look back to the past to see that our history is full of events that once represented a real technological challenge and unprecedented human sacrifice. Like the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano 500 years ago, after completing the first circumnavigation of the planet in history. A feat that you can now enjoy in the heart of Metro de Madrid.
Metro has decided to join in the celebration with a spectacular theme of the Islas Filipinas station on Line 7, the hall of which has been decorated with a giant map that enables you to follow the expedition route on foot. In addition, several panels have been installed, provided by the Navy, with historical information on the voyage. The choice of the Islas Filipinas was not accidental, since it was in this archipelago that Ferdinand Magellan died on 27 April 1521 in the Battle of Mactan.
