Metro de Madrid celebrates its 101st anniversary
On 17 October 1919, the underground opened its doors for the first time for the trip to open the section between the Sol and Cuatro Caminos stations, ushering in a new era of public transport.
Since then, Metro has kept growing, modernising and adapting to the needs of a city in constant movement, to become a symbol of the capital and a reference for international metropolitans.
