Metro joins forces with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation to encourage aid donations to India

The proceeds will be used to buy an oxygen generator to bring some relief to the victims of Covid-19 in that country.

Metro de Madrid has joined forces with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation to encourage network users to donate funds for India in view of the extremely serious problems the country is facing as a result of COVID-19. To this end, Metro will collaborate in the development of the #SOSCovidIndiaMetro campaign. Through 300 advertising supports distributed over some of the 302 underground stations, as well as through its social media accounts and the corporate website, Metro will provide the information needed on how the people of Madrid can donate funds to obtain an oxygen generator and alleviate the emergency situation in the Asian country.

The Foundation has set up different ways to donate, so that all can participate. You can donate either by telephone: 900 111 300, or by bank transfer (indicating your name and telephone number as reference): CAIXABANK ES7021003331942200097397 or by using the mobile app, BIZUM, to the code 33466 (if the bank offers the possibility of making donations to NGOs) and via the Vicente Ferrer Foundation website.

In this way, at Metro we’re calling on Metro passengers to show their solidarity with the victims of Covid-19 in India by collaborating on this programme. The posters, which will be visible at stations and on Metro's social media pages, carry the slogan "Oxygen for India" and explain how this wave of Covid-19 has hit India hard, as well as the urgent need for oxygen in hospitals.
