Metro, the backdrop for the best TV series
Did you know that part of the plot of 'Reina Roja’' takes place in the tunnels and corridors of Metro, and did you notice that the series 'Berlin' and 'Memento Mori' were also partly filmed in our stations?
Throughout 2023, a total of 22 audiovisual productions chose Metro as a 'set'. The filming involved more than 177 hours of work for a total of 1,152 audiovisual professionals, including actors, production personnel, extras and camera operators.
Since its origins, Metro has always been a place chosen by great Spanish filmmakers for their projects. This is the case of 'Ópera Prima' (1980), the directorial début of Fernando Trueba. Other notable films include Laberinto de pasiones (1982), in which Pedro Almodóvar places the main actress, Cecilia Roth, at the Aluche stop; and Tiovivo C.1950 (2004), by José Luis Garci, in which Elsa Pataky plays a ticket agent of the metro company.
