If you are staying in Madrid this summer and fancy a different type of trip out, you need go no further than visiting one of the Metro museums. The classic train exhibition at Chamartín station, the Engine Shed, Chamberí station, Caños del Peral or the Entrance Lobby at Pacífico station are all sites that will remain open to the public throughout the month of August.
You can visit them on Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, or Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00. In the case of the entrance lobby at Pacífico station, you can visit on the last Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
If you want to sign up to this activity, you should take into account that the capacity is limited, and hence you will need to register first on the web page museosmetromadrid.es.
Entry to these sites is free of charge. You only need a travel card to get into Chamartín, Ópera and Pacífico stations, since the museum sites are located inside the entry points.
