Ópera station is now a hundred years old
Metro celebrated the centenary of the Ópera station in style on 21 October. Do you know what we did to celebrate this anniversary? A very sweet collaboration with the also centenary San Ginés chocolate café. A pack consisting of two commemorative mugs, a churro maker and chocolate has been put on sale in official Metro shops. Dare to make your own traditional breakfast!
For the more curious among us, we’ll tell you that the emblematic Ópera station was originally called Isabel II and is a key point for accessing places as representative as the Teatro Real, Plaza de Oriente and the Royal Palace. It also houses the archaeological museum Los Caños del Peral and a new corporate shop has recently been opened where, of course, you can buy the churro maker.
