Rediscover historical underground locations in the photography exhibition “Esférica”

This is on display in Chamartín station until 27 March

The photo display Esférica is a fascinating journey through the historical jewels of railway heritage. This gives a unique perspective to different historical locations in the underground, captured through photos taken with a fish-eye lens that are on display until 27 March, located next to the Classic Train Exhibition in Chamartín station.

Through this initiative, Metro de Madrid offers the possibility of visiting museums through this singular display, divided into five series which coincide with the museums that the company has opened to the public: Pacífico Engine Shed, Chamberí station, Caños del Peral Museum in Ópera station, the Classic Train Exhibition in Chamartín station and the Pacífico entrance hall.

E3The exhibition focuses closely on the details of the classic trains that ran in the first few years of this centenary company: the driver’s cabins, the passenger compartments, their doors, their elegant seats, lighting and Metro logo, thus revitalising the exhibition of classic trains with a particular vision that complements and highlights the value of the historical legacy of the company’s rolling stock.

Entrance tickets, both to visit the new exhibition and the different museums, can be acquired on the website museosmetromadrid.es. Access to all sites is free of charge; you only require a ticket to go into Chamartín, Ópera and Pacífico stations, since the museum spaces are located inside the turnstiles.
