To the delight of chulapos and chulapas, the streets of Madrid are once again decked out to celebrate the festivities of San Cayetano, San Lorenzo and the Virgen de la Paloma. There will be 12 days of festivities with something for everyone, including chotis, Manila shawls, lemonade and squid sandwiches. 

The first festival will celebrate San Cayetano from 5 to 8 August, with Calle del Oso and the squares General Vara de Rey and Cascorro as the main venues. To get to the area, you can take the Metro to La Latina or Puerta de Toledo station (L5). 

Then, from 9 to 12 August, it will be the turn of the fiestas of San Lorenzo, with the Plaza de Arturo Barea as the main point of celebration. In this case, the best way to get there is via Lavapiés (L3) or Tirso de Molina (L1) stations. 

The final touch will come from 14 to 17 August with the festivities of the Virgen de la Paloma, the main stage of which will be the Jardines de las Vistillas and the Plaza de la Paja. In this case, the nearest stations are again La Latina and Puerta de Toledo (L5).
