The Principe de Vergara station will have six new lifts in June

The works, which involve an investment of 11.7 million Euro, are part of the Modernisation and Accessibility plans for the Madrid underground

The Principe de Vergara station (lines 2 and 9) will be turned into a fully accessible station with six new lifts when the work is completed in June next year.


Metro de Madrid has also used this work to carry out the comprehensive modernisation of the station, which includes the renovation of the station’s coverings, installations and technology.


The ventilation ducting for the platforms and drains have also been renovated, as well as the covering of the staircases and new rooms have been added. In addition to this, the signs for users and fire protection, air conditioning and sales facilities, among others, have also been improved.
