El Casar metro station

This is what the new El Casar station looks like

A large foyer and a mural in homage to Don Quixote

The El Casar Metro station on line 12 was inaugurated more than 20 years ago, in April 2003. However, the latest underground extension works that have connected Villaverde Alto with El Casar have meant that the latter has also become part of line 3.

As a result of this work, the station has undergone a comprehensive transformation. It now has six escalators, three lifts and a 670 square metre lobby. A surface car park has also been built, free of charge for users of public transport, and a future electric vehicle charging area.

However, the most striking feature of the new station is a large mural, the work of artist Almudena Robledano, which presides over the new space and shows Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, in homage to the Los Molinos neighbourhood where it is located.
