Replica of the new Metro train model

This is what the new Metro trains will be like: fast, spacious and more accessible

Discover them from the inside at Plaza de Colón

Metro presents its new trains in an exhibition that will remain open to the public throughout the month of April in Madrid's Plaza de Colón. Here, visitors will find a life-size replica of the carriages that will start running on line 6 from 2027.  What do they stand out for? With no driver's cab, they will have up to 17% more space. Thus, they will have a total capacity of 1,385 seats per carriage. The new rolling stock will be 20% more energy efficient and will improve accessibility as it will have, among other advantages, a higher colour contrast. The new trains will also reach a maximum speed of 110 km/h, which means increasing their speed by 33%.

If you would like to see them first hand, you can visit the replica from 2 to 30 April, from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm; and at weekends and during Easter Week from 10 am to 8 pm. In the evening, there will also be special lighting until midnight.
