To the Prairie, on Metro!
The Manila shawl, carnations, doughnuts, lemonade... And Metro de Madrid. Few things are more traditional than the Madrid underground. That is why we invite you to celebrate the San Isidro festivities and get around on Metro, as the service on lines 1, 2, 3 and 5 has been reinforced by up to 150%.
The 15 May is the day to go with friends and family to the Prairie and celebrate the festival of the patron saint of the people of Madrid to the rhythm of chotis. You can easily get to the Prairie via Marqués de Vadillo station or the nearby Urgel and Pirámides stations, all on line 5.
But this year, the Prairie will be joined by other venues for the celebrations, and you can get to all of them by Metro. Matadero (Legazpi station, lines 3 and 6), Las Vistillas (La Latina station, line 5) and Plaza Mayor (Sol station, lines 1, 2 and 3) are also meeting points for locals and visitors. If you want all the information regarding the programme, you can find it on the official website of the festivities sanisidromadrid.com. So now you know. Grab your best chulapo outfit and celebrate San Isidro!
