If you feel like taking a break and enjoying nature in the big city, all you have to do is use Metro and get to one of these marvellous enclaves.

Do you know the Juan Carlos I Park? It has a skating rink, lake, estuary, children's area and dog area. Go to Feria de Madrid station (L8) and see for yourself.

Olive, pine, eucalyptus and almond trees grow in the Quinta de los Molinos. Enjoy a stroll through this vast expanse of woodland. Just go to Suanzes station (L5).

The Quinta de la Fuente del Berro has fountains, waterfalls and a couple of small ponds, as well as a mansion, testimony to its palatial past. Take the underground to O'Donnell station (L6) and enjoy these gardens.

 

You don't need to be in San Isidro to go to the park that bears its name, you just need to get to the metro station Marqués de Vadillo (L5) or Urgel (L5).

Egyptian touches in the Temple of Debod or romantic views in La Rosaleda? There is plenty to choose from in Parque Oeste. You'll be there in no time at all from Moncloa (L3, L6) or Príncipe Pío (L6, L10, Ramal) stations.

Another of the Spanish capital's most emblematic gardens is Las Vistillas. From the highest part of the grounds you can see the Manzanares, the Casa de Campo and the Sierra de Guadarrama, as well as hear the bells of the Almudena Cathedral. La Latina (L5).

Travel to the English countryside without leaving Madrid by taking a stroll through the El Capricho park. The metro stations of El Capricho (L5) and Alameda de Osuna (L5) are the closest to this little oasis.

From the stations of Méndez Álvaro (L6) or Arganzuela-Planetario (L6) you will have access to another of Madrid's most famous green areas: the Enrique Tierno Galván park. As well as practising sport or enjoying its grove, you can visit the planetarium, located inside.

This list wouldn't be complete without mentioning one of Madrid's most famous parks, El Retiro, an ideal place for a stroll at this time of year. Retiro (L2) and Ibiza (L9).

And finally, we also recommend that you visit the Casa de Campo, the green lung of the city, the enormous extension of which will enable you to make many plans. You can get there using the stations of Lago (L10), Batán (L10) and Casa de Campo (L5, L10).
