The 'Centenary Race', will be held on February 3 is part of the commemorative activities of the centennial of Metro de Madrid. The route will be the same, although on the surface, of the first Metro line, which was inaugurated in 1919 as a North-South line and covered the route between Cuatro Caminos and Sol with 8 stations.
Metro de Madrid encourages all those who wish to enroll in this five-kilometer race, which will cover all those streets that the underground tunnels connect underground on a journey that had never before been planned for the Madrid runners. To be able to participate in this test you just have to register on the web. Each registration has a cost of 7.50 euros and includes a shirt.
There will be prizes for the top three finishers in the men's and women's categories. For the first classified the prize will be an Annual Pass for 2019. For the second classified there will be a Multi Card with a load of 2 metrobus of 10 trips and for the third classified a Multi card with a load of 1 metrobus of 10 trips.
Participants will be able to test their own times on a 5-kilometer-long route that Metro trains only take 10 minutes to travel. The registration period will close on the day before the race, on February 2, 2019.
