Metro de Madrid wins Public Institution of the Year award in its centenary year
The Regional Councillor for Transport, Housing and Infrastructure, Rosalía Gonzalo, collected the award today, that recognises Metro de Madrid as the Public Institution of the Year, bestowed by the Spanish Association of Publishers of Periodical Publications (Spanish acronym: AEEPP) during the course of the 8th edition of the award ceremony organised annually by this association. The AEEPP is the largest national periodical public sector organisation, whose members include more than 140 publishing groups and companies.
Rosalía Gonzalo expressed her gratitude for the award “on behalf of all the workers of Metro de Madrid, a company that forms an intrinsic part of the history of this city and of this region and which proudly celebrates its first centenary this year”. In order to celebrate this event, the Regional Government of Madrid has organised dozens of activities with the aim of raising awareness as to the past, present and future of the underground system through exhibitions, concerts and sporting, cultural and supportive events to be enjoyed by all the people of Madrid.
