Metro de Madrid will reopen Sol station on line 2 on Monday, 13 May, after rectifying part of the problem affecting the tunnel caused by the works being carried out by the Canalejas Complex in the area. Now that the works to repair the tunnel are completed, the section closed on line 2 is once again between Retiro and Sol stations, where works continue to finalise the repairs in full following the incident in the tunnel caused by the Canalejas works, beyond the control of Metro de Madrid.

Accordingly, as from the re-opening of the service on Monday, 13 May at 06.00, users will be able to reach Sol station from Ópera on line 2.

In order to continue to Sevilla, Banco de España and Retiro, the bus replacement service will remain operational that currently covers the section between the stations affected by the works, which runs from Príncipe de Vergara to Callao. The service will continue to be free of charge for Metro users. From Retiro station, the underground service is working with normality to Las Rosas (end of the line). The same applies from Sol station to Cuatro Caminos as from Monday.

Metro has brought forward the scheduled re-opening of Sol station on line 2 by 24 hours. The rest of the section of the line affected is scheduled to re-open in the coming weeks and the exact day will be notified in advance.
