Silvia Roldán, new CEO of Metro de Madrid

The Board of Directors of Metro de Madrid has today appointed Silvia Roldán, Manager of the Regional Transport Consortium until now, as the new CEO of the Company.

Accordingly, Silvia Roldán becomes the first woman to head up Metro de Madrid. Her profile, with experience in the public company and a professional career closely linked to the railway sector, will allow her to address the challenges facing Metro de Madrid in this new period.

Until her arrival at the Consortium, Silvia Roldán was Manager of the Budget Planning and Analysis Department at the public company ADIF. A graduate in industrial engineering from the Carlos III University of Madrid, she has developed most of her professional career at ADIF in various positions of responsibility.

Accordingly, following her arrival at the railway administrator in 2004, she was Head of Sub-stations for High-Speed and Conventional Network Rail Travel, held the post of Manager of the Processes Department, coordinated the development of the high-speed maintenance activity, and as Manager of the Processes and Facilities Department was responsible for maintenance on the high-speed line project between Mecca and Medina (Saudi Arabia) in 2013 and 2014.

Subsequently, she performed different roles at the Management and Coordination Department of ADIF and, as from 2017, moved to the Monitoring of Investments and Operational Activities Department, where she coordinated management control activities, monitored operating plans and took part in the planning and performance of multiannual budgets at the entity, among other responsibilities.
