The Regional Government of Madrid begins underground works between Arganda del Rey and La Poveda stations, on Line 9B, as from Friday, 9 July, and hence the service will be suspended on this stretch until 7 September.

These works are in addition to other actions that form part of the improvement and renovation plan that the Regional Government of Madrid will implement on four underground lines (Lines 6, 7, 9 and 12 of MetroSur), which seek to improve the safety and quality of the installations that provide a service to users.

Specifically, the works to be carried out on Line 9B affect the stretch located in Arganda de Rey. These are a continuation of the works carried out over the last year and primarily consist of strengthening the infrastructure through the repair of embankments, drainage in certain zones and the repair of other elements in order to maintain the land and the installations with the utmost safety guarantees.

Cleaning work will also be carried out on the track supporting layer, utility boxes will be repaired, along with cable channels, ballast retaining walls and earthworks.

The Regional Transport Consortium is offering, as with other service suspensions in the last year, an alternative free bus service, provided through Argabus, which will guarantee passenger mobility on the stretch of the line affected by the closure of these two stations.

These actions came on top of those already under way on MetroSur, between Hospital de Móstoles and Conservatorio stations, with the aim of renewing the track, as well as on Line 6 between Sainz de Baranda and Pacífico stations, where comprehensive modernisation works are being carried out on Conde de Casal station.

The fourth action scheduled for this summer will be on MetroEste, which will close part of its installations on 12 July. Specifically, this will affect La Rambla and Hospital del Henares stations.

Lastly, Line 9 is due to be closed on 1 August between Colombia and Plaza de Castilla, as a result of remodelling works and improvements at Duque de Pastrana station.
