Regional Government of Madrid increases train services on Line 7 of underground due to football match between Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal
The Regional Government of Madrid will increase train services on Line 7 tomorrow, on Sunday, by 67% on the occasion of the football match in the Spanish Football League between Club Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal which will take place at 22.00 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. This increase in the train service will begin at 20.30 and continue until the start of the match, and will then be resumed following the match, foreseeably as from 23.45, with up to 150% more trains.
In addition, Metro de Madrid will have several reserve trains ready on Line 5 in the event that it is necessary to also increase the service on this line, should the number of travellers makes this advisable.
The staff attending the public and security personnel will also be increased at Estadio Metropolitano station, which provides access to the stadium, as well as at nearby stations, to ensure that the flow of passengers takes place without incident.
Metro de Madrid also advises users to buy their return travel ticket in advance, so as to avoid waiting unnecessarily at Estadio Metropolitano station at the end of the match. In the hours prior to the match, this recommendation will be relayed through the usual channels employed by the Madrid underground to communicate with users.
This increase in the number of trains and staff is made to ensure optimum attention to users in light of the foreseeable increase in the number of travellers that tends to occur when sporting events are held.
