Regional Government of Madrid increases underground and bus services with a view to the arrival of the Three Kings
The Regional Government of Madrid will step up the public transport service during the week of the arrival of the Three Wise Men to the region, due, as in previous years, to the increase in mobility of elderly people and children associated with leisure activities and the last few days of Christmas shopping.
Accordingly, the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM) has drawn up an action plan to step up the offer of both buses and underground trains, also backed by the suburban railway network.
A special underground service will be scheduled for 5 January due to the celebration of the Procession by the Three Kings, stepping up the service on the lines affected and increasing the number of train drivers, station staff and security guards.
The increase in the underground service, which began on 3 December, shall continue until Sunday, 9 January. The increase in the train service affects Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 on working days, and particularly on Fridays and at the weekend. On some of these lines, this increase is as much as 28%, and 50% at weekends.
In the case of the EMT, the service has been increased on 19 lines related to mobility in the city centre.
