At its meeting today, the Governing Council of the Community of Madrid approved the investment of 8.7 million euros in consolidation and stabilisation work on an area of 5,000 square metres affected by the works on Line 7B of the Metro. The works in the municipality of San Fernando de Henares, which will be located mainly in the El Pilar complex, will begin this month and will last nine months.

The actions to be carried out consist of transport, assembly and removal of heavy machinery; inspections and cleaning of the collectors; installation of water transfer from one well to another and automatic auscultation monitoring on the surface and in the Metro tunnel to consolidate the ground.

The Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures has met in recent days with both the mayor of the municipality and the two main associations of those affected by Line 7B, and has assured them that all rental subsidies will continue to be paid until the compensation cases are resolved.

This coming September, the affected streets will be cleared and open so that neighbours and traders can gradually return to normality. In addition, it has been agreed to hold regular meetings so that the team of the Directorate General for Infrastructures can inform them of the development of the work, future actions and processing times.
