The Community of Madrid presents its main innovation and sustainability projects for public transport at the Global Mobility Call congress

The Community of Madrid is taking part in the second edition of the International Congress on Sustainable Mobility, Global Mobility Call, to present its main innovation projects in this area for public transport in the region. This event, unique in the world, will be held from 24 to 26 October at IFEMA with the participation of 10,000 professionals, 250 companies and 400 speakers, with the aim of achieving public-private partnerships that contribute to the development of this new form of environmentally friendly mobility.
Tomorrow, his Majesty the King of Spain, Felipe VI, will preside over the gala dinner at the Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the regional government, to inaugurate this meeting, which will also be attended by the head of the Madrid Regional Government, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
The Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure has a 100 square metre booth for this fair, where Metro de Madrid and the Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) will present their policies and development plans in this field to business leaders and CEOs of the most important companies in the industry.
Visitors will be able to learn, for example, about the future extensions of the underground, the digitalisation of its facilities, the modernisation of the Santiago Bernabéu station and the innovative autonomous bus that operates at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), developed jointly by the CRTM and the General Directorate of Traffic.
Representatives of these two public bodies will also participate as speakers at two round tables. The first, on the opening day, with the title, Public transport as the backbone of sustainable mobility for citizens, with the participation of the CEO of Metro de Madrid, Ignacio Vázquez, and the Managing Director of the Consortium, Pablo Rodríguez. Finally, on 26 October, Isaac Centellas, head of facilities and information systems for the underground, will take part in the talk, The digitisation of public transport for a better user experience.
