The Community of Madrid receives more than 4,500 visitors to the photographic exhibition Miradas, Metro en ochenta instantes (Glances, Metro in eighty moments)

Photographic exhibition at Chamartín station

The exhibition is open until October in the Classic Trains space at Chamartín station. It brings together a selection of images captured by an employee of the company that offer a journey through its recent history. The tour is free, as is the rest of the underground museums, and can be booked online. It shares the stage with 12 historic cars that have been fully restored to their original appearance.

The Community of Madrid has received more than 4,500 visits since last May to the exhibition Miradas, Metro en ochenta instantes. This photographic collection traces the recent history of the metropolitan company and is available in the Classic Trains space at Chamartín station.

The exhibition includes 80 images taken by one of its workers, Emiliano Durán, who has portrayed some of the most emblematic spaces and elements of the underground. Interested persons can observe 21 colourful panels with constant references to the construction and maintenance works of the network, while appreciating the historical transformation that this means of transport has undergone and its impact on society.

It can be visited free of charge until next October, like the other Metro museums, during the usual opening hours of the Chamartín space, Fridays from 4 pm to 8 pm; Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. To do so, you only need to book in advance on the website https://museosmetromadrid.es/.

Alongside this collection of snapshots is the exhibition of classic trains, with 12 different models of the company's historic carriages that were in operation in the first half of the 20th century and which have been fully restored to their original appearance. This way, users can graphically see the important evolution of the rolling stock that provides public transport services in Madrid.
