The Community of Madrid launches a travel planner app with all the public transport options in real time
For six months, the CRTM will contact a group of residents so that they can access this tool using their phones. MuévetexMadrid will be on the mobile phones of 4,000 users and it has been created with the aim of facilitating travel and saving time. Users will be able to check in real time the intervals and the current position of the underground, urban and intercity buses and Cercanías.
The Community of Madrid is launching a pilot project with a mobile app to plan trips with all the public transport options in the region in real time. The goal of this pilot project of the regional government is to facilitate trips, choose the most suitable one at any given moment and help users save time.
For six months, the Regional Transport Consortium, which depends on the Regional Ministry for Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, is making the trial version of this new mobile app, MuévetexMadrid, available to a limited number of Madrid residents. Around 4,000 people will test this tool, which is currently available for Android devices, with testing on iOS devices to begin in the coming months.
Through this application, users will be able to plan routes, choose the option that best suits their needs and obtain details regarding the nearest bus, underground or Cercanías stops, as well as the arrival time of the next vehicle. One of the most useful features is that it will be possible to check information in real time, i.e., check transit times and the current position of public transport.
Another important aspect to highlight is that, thanks to this tool, users will be aware of incidents that may affect their itinerary or air quality and winter weather alerts. They will also be able to find out about accessibility and the availability of lifts on each route. Finally, it also includes information on the CRTM management offices and sales outlets.
This pilot project will test the features and usability of the application. In it, a questionnaire has been set up so that any incident, complaint or suggestion can be made for developers to implement the improvements with a view to its final launch.
