During the months of works, a bus service has been running overground at no additional cost. The regional government is continuing work to complete the connection between lines 3 and 12 of the underground. This extension of the network will make it possible to reach Puerta del Sol from five southern municipalities in just half an hour.

The Community of Madrid will reopen this Saturday 31 August the section of MetroSur (L12) between the stations of Juan de la Cierva and El Casar (Getafe) which has been closed since 1 March due to extension work on line 3.

The Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures is continuing with the extension work on line 3, which will link the Villaverde Alto and El Casar stations, without interfering with the normal operation of the MetroSur service. All this time, users have been able to take advantage of a special replacement bus service for the route overground at no additional cost.

The goal of this action is to provide MetroSur with a new link to the capital. This way, more than one million passengers from the municipalities of Getafe, Leganés, Móstoles, Alcorcón and Fuenlabrada will be able to reach Puerta del Sol in just half an hour.
