The Community of Madrid invests €29.5 million in improvement works on Metro Line 7B between San Fernando and Barrio del Puerto

The Governing Council, in its meeting today, has authorised these works with an emergency contract and an execution period of seven months, which will enable the undertaking of waterproofing works and consolidation of the ground, repairs to the superstructure and drainage of the tunnel, similar to those already being carried out since 3 June between San Fernando and Hospital del Henares.

The Regional Ministry for Housing, Transport and Infrastructure develops, since the beginning of the works, a Comprehensive Action Plan on L7B, presented by the regional government in October 2022, and in which these interventions are included.

In addition to these projects, the regional government has launched other measures to meet the needs of those affected. Recently, it was announced that 100% of the regional taxes related to the purchase of a home in San Fernando de Henares will be reimbursed to the affected people. In addition, has already paid compensation to 63 families amounting to nearly €9 million.

Likewise, the budgets of the Community of Madrid for this year included an investment of €63 million to help the neighbours, with their rent, mobility and living expenses while the consolidation of the land is being carried out and until all the compensation files are resolved.

Also, and within the initiatives aimed at satisfying the demands of other collectives involved, the Community of Madrid has released a line of aids for SMEs and individual entrepreneurs in the commercial and service industries in the area. With incentives of up to €50,000, they help cover the purchase of equipment, computer and technological material, e-commerce projects and web page design, running costs and refurbishment.
