The Community of Madrid will invest €3.3 million in the surveillance and conservation of the railway infrastructures and land owned by Metro de Madrid. At its meeting this week, the Governing Council approved the contract of the Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures to cover the supervision and preservation needs of the units in service and non-operational units, which run both above and below ground.
This provides a response to any issues that may arise in the future. The operations to be carried out, which cover a period of three years, include a custody, programming, monitoring, drafting of reports and technical studies service, as well as the conservation and coordination of the health and safety of these works.
These tasks also include taking inventory data and updating it, as well as inspections of the condition of the railway units and protection actions to maintain or restore the functionality of the equipment and ensure that they meet the required quality standards.
