The action starts on 15 January and will continue until the works are completed to guarantee transport capacity. The train service will be increased on lines 5 and 10 on business days, from the start of the service until 10 pm. The underground will increase the number of passenger service and security staff in the affected area by 120 employees

The Community of Madrid is implementing a special Metro reinforcement plan to guarantee transport capacity due to the underground works on the A5. From 15 January, to coincide with the start of the works, Metro lines 5 and 10, which serve the affected area, will be reinforced by up to 25%. The goal of the operation is to offer an alternative means of mobility to residents, taking into account the impact that the works will have on surface traffic at this point in the city.

The Metro reinforcement will be carried out on business days from the start of the service until 10 pm, adapting to the different time slots. Thus, in the morning rush hour on business days, the reinforcement will be up to 9%, which will mean that line 10 will be reinforced with three more trains and line 5 with two more trains, thus reaching the maximum train capacity on both lines. At certain times, train services on line 10 will be increased by up to 25%, while on line 5 they will be increased by up to 13%.

As usual, Metro de Madrid will check the operation of this reinforcement service so that, if necessary, it can make the appropriate modifications to guarantee a quality service to all users.

In addition, the underground will increase the number of staff members available at the main stations affected to help users commute the best possible way. Specifically, there will be a total of 84 direct passenger service station staff members and 36 more security guards than usual, in addition to the staff already working in the area.
