The Community of Madrid will reinforce the Metro service in the event of the Renfe strike called for 17 and 19 March

""

Reinforcements are expected to be extended due to possible strikes on 24, 26 and 28 March, 1 and 3 April. More trains will run during the morning rush hour (7 to 9 am) on lines 1, 3 and 6. The number of station and security staff members will also be increased at stations with a Cercanías connection.

The Community of Madrid will reinforce the Metro service by up to 6% in view of the expected increase in passengers in the event of the RENFE strike called for 17 and 19 March. The increase in trains will be concentrated on lines 1, 3 and 6, as these are the lines with the greatest number of stations with connections to Cercanías-Renfe and, therefore, would have the greatest number of users.

The reinforcement will take place during rush hour (starting at 7 am until 9 am), mainly on the aforementioned lines. In addition, station and security staff will be increased, especially in stations where a greater flow of passengers is expected, in order to guarantee the correct operation of the service and ensure adequate mobility in the area.

Metro de Madrid will monitor the evolution of user traffic on the network in real time so that, if required, the reinforcement can be modified and the service can be optimally adjusted to demand.

It is expected that these reinforcements will be maintained for the following planned strike days: 24, 26 and 28 March, 1 and 3 April.
