The Community of Madrid is going to reinforce the Metro service by up to 125% during Easter, specifically on 13, 16, 17, 18 and 19 April, in order to guarantee and facilitate the mobility of all Madrid residents and visitors during the processions. The number of trains running on lines 1, 2, 3 and 5 (Pinar de Chamartín - Valdecarros, Las Rosas-Cuatro Caminos, Villaverde Alto-Moncloa and Alameda de Osuna-Casa de Campo) will be increased as they are the closest to the processions and where the largest number of passengers is expected.
The special arrangements will begin in the afternoons, from approximately 4 pm (depending on the day), and at certain times the number of trains will be increased to as much as 125% on some lines.
Moreover, and in order to avoid high concentrations, the exits at Sol Metro station will close at the request of the National Police Force, although trains will continue to make stops for passengers who need connections with the different connecting lines. Closing times will be Sunday 13, from 4.30 pm; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5.30 pm; and Saturday from 3 pm. All until the end of service.
The increase in the number of trains will also be accompanied by an increase in the number of Metro employees at the stations, as well as security personnel on these lines, to ensure the smooth flow of users at all times, especially at the stations where the greatest number of passengers is expected, such as Ópera, Callao, Gran Vía and Sevilla.
