The Community of Madrid has launched a new edition of the tourist map of the region on public transport which includes updated information on the latest developments in the underground network, such as the extension of Metro Line 3 to El Casar (Getafe) or the changes in the head of some intercity buses due to the works for the burying of the A-5 and the work on the Conde de Casal interchange.
The Regional Transport Consortium has designed, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Tourism, this map which is available for consultation and downloading at the Tourist Offices and on the website of both organisations. Moreover, thanks to its pocket format, it offers summarised information on how to use the different public transport options to visit Madrid and the usefulness of the tourist ticket.
This guide, which is available in Spanish and English, provides a tour of the regional World Heritage sites: Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, Hayedo de Montejo and San Lorenzo de El Escorial by train or bus. It also describes how to visit the eleven Towns of Madrid: Buitrago de Lozoya, Rascafría, Patones, Torrelaguna, Manzanares El Real, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Navalcarnero, Nuevo Baztán, Chinchón, Villarejo de Salvanés and Colmenar de Oreja.
This new edition also details the timetables of the interchanges and includes schematic maps of Metro, Cercanías and Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport terminals.
