This is included in a survey carried out by the CRTM, which was announced by Councillor Rodrigo at the Avanza por la Sierra awards ceremony. Metro, EMT and Metro Ligero Oeste, lead user satisfaction, well above Cercanías-Renfe, which falls to 6.75/10. Passengers’ ratings for intercity and city buses from other municipalities outside the Spanish capital is 7.7/10.

The Community of Madrid has achieved its best score in the last five years in terms of how users rate regional public transport, with a very high score. Specifically, the average score obtained by the different modes of transport managed by the regional government is 8.03/10 points, three tenths above the result recorded in 2023.

These data are included in the quality survey undertaken by the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM), the results of which were presented today by the Regional Minister for Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, during the presentation of the Avanza por la Sierra awards. The event took place at the Teatro Municipal Las Cigüeñas in Hoyo de Manzanares and was organised by the Avanza bus company, the CRTM and the Sierra de Guadarrama Development Association (ADESGAM).

In this study, more than 36,206 passenger surveys were carried out in the last quarter of 2024, analysing both the quality perceived by users and the satisfaction and expectations of the service among the people of Madrid.

Metro continues to be the most used means of transport and one of the favourites for the vast majority of citizens, achieving a score of 8.13/10, the second best score, surpassed only by Metro Ligero Oeste, which obtained the highest score of 8.45/10. EMT receives 8.09 and Tranvía de Parla 7.95/10. The score given by users to intercity and city buses in other municipalities outside the Spanish capital is 7.7/10.

In general, all the services managed by the Madrid Regional Government are above or close to a B, except for the Cercanías-Renfe service, which is rated lower than in the previous year. Passengers give this service a score of 6.75/10, compared to 6.99/10 in 2023, thus widening the gap with other modes of public transport.

"This survey corroborates, with objective data, the disenchantment of thousands of Madrid residents who suffer every day from a local train service that is in deficit due to the neglect of a central government that does not invest in its improvement", said Rodrigo, who also highlighted "the regional government is proud to have a public transport network that is so highly valued by its citizens".
