This visual proposal aims to involve underground users in following the European tournament being held in Switzerland until 27 July.
Today, the Community of Madrid presented an initiative at Plaza de España Metro station to support the Women's National Football Team, with the aim of giving visibility to the team coached by Montse Tomé during its participation in Euro 2025, which is being held in Switzerland until 27 July.
The Regional Minister for Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, and the President of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, have announced this project whereby this important enclave of the underground network will display, over the next few weeks, canvases and plastic strips with images and references to the national team players.
In addition, the names of some of the players will hang from the iconic diamonds at the entrance to the station, accompanied by messages inviting users to join in this collective support with the slogan Go Spain!, and encourage them to follow the tournament.
This space is one of the nerve centres of the Metro network, thanks to its strategic location in the heart of the city, a key axis linking commercial, cultural and tourist areas. In addition, its connection with several lines 3, 10 and 2 (via Noviciado), facilitates the mobility of more than 30,000 passengers who use it daily in July, making it one of the 10 busiest in the entire underground network.
With this initiative, the metropolitan company confirms its commitment to women's sport and the promotion of national talent, encouraging its millions of users to follow and cheer on the Spanish national team in this important European football event.
