Work is being undertaken on the line's 24 stations and 20 kilometres of tunnels. It will be suspended from 25 to 29 July in order to carry out work to renovate the signalling system. A free replacement bus service will be provided to cover the affected section.

The Community of Madrid continues to carry out work to renovate the railway signalling system on Metro line 7 in order to improve its capacity and reliability. Thus, the service will be suspended on the section between Barrio de la Concepción and Canal stations from 25 to 29 July in order to carry out the work. These tasks are being carried out mainly at night, but small cuts are required to undertake work that is incompatible with train traffic.

During those four days, no trains will run between the stations mentioned above. The date has been chosen in view of the lower passenger demand recorded in the area during the July long weekend, with the aim of limiting the inconvenience caused by this type of work.

In any case, the regional government will provide citizens with a free replacement bus service that will cover the affected route to guarantee the mobility of Metro users.

The project is part of a broader plan for the comprehensive renovation of the signalling on line 7 between the Estadio Metropolitano and Pitis stations, with an investment of more than €33 million. In total, work will be undertaken on 20 kilometres of tunnel and 24 stations.

The refurbishment will make it possible to reduce the interval between trains, control temporary speed limitations from the Central Control Centre and incorporate the automatic door opening system, known as PATO, which will optimise trip times. The software of 144 carriages of the 7000, 8000 and 9000 models will also be upgraded.

This way, greater transport capacity and better management will be achieved by optimising safety levels in the event of disruptions and occasional breakdowns. They will also increase reliability, make service maintenance easier and reduce operating costs.

This is the third of the micro-cuts carried out to make the renovation of the signalling system possible, which implies an important effort, professionalism and synchronisation of all the staff involved, working for four days, 24 hours a day. Over 758 checks of signals, switch motors, track circuits and ATP, as well as the running of test trains, will be undertaken over the four days alone.

This action, as well as the other two previous ones, first between the stations García Noblejas and Estadio Metropolitano (November 2024) and then in the section between San Blas and Cartagena (May 2025), is co-financed by the European Union under the 2021–2027 FEDER Operational Programme of the Community of Madrid.
