The Community of Madrid pays tribute to Metro's legacy with a photographic exhibition that traces the company's history. The Vestigia exhibition. Huellas de un pasado olvidado (Traces of a forgotten past), consisting of 88 black and white snapshots, can be visited at the Museo de Trenes Clásicos de Chamartín from today. 

Inside the space, visitors will be able to enjoy images that portray emblematic spaces, old stations, disappeared halls, archaeological sites discovered during the tunnel works, old carriages and some elements of urban transport that marked an era, and that built the identity of the Madrid underground, which celebrated its 105th anniversary in 2024. 

The collection of photographs is displayed both inside and outside the trains themselves, which are part of the station's permanent exhibition. It is made up of 12 different models of historic cars, which were in operation in the first half of the 20th century and which have been fully restored to their original appearance. The tour also enables visitors to appreciate the transformation that the Metro rolling stock has undergone over the years. 

The exhibition is the work of Rubén Rodríguez Camarero, photographer and company employee, and can be visited free of charge during the normal opening hours of the Chamartín space, by booking through the Metro de Madrid museums website: www.museosmetromadrid.es.
