The free samples register a score of 9.83/10, reflecting a high level of public satisfaction. The historic Chamberí station continues to be the most visited location, with a record of 50,000 visitors, while Caños del Peral, located in Ópera, is the fastest growing. Temporary exhibitions such as Metro Cómic and Vestigia, which can still be visited, were well received.

In 2025, the Community of Madrid has consolidated the Metro Museum network as one of the region's main cultural attractions. The five historic areas of the underground received a total of 125,864 visitors last year, with Chamberí station being the busiest with almost 50,000 people, followed by the permanent exhibition of Classic Trains at Chamartín, with 36,000.

As a new highlight, the Caños del Peral Archaeological Museum, located in the Ópera station, recorded a record 20,604 visitors, which is 60% more than the previous year and places it in third position. Completing this list, with over 16,000 visitors, are the Nave de Motores de Pacífico and its historic hall, designed by the famous architect Antonio Palacios, with 2,348 visitors. Overall, the average user rating for the experience was 9.83/10 points.

The temporary exhibitions organised by the metropolitan company were also very well received. These include Metro Cómic and Vestigia, which are still open to the public in the Nave de Motores and Chamartín respectively, as well as the photographic exhibition Miradas and the collection of Classic Train models, previously exhibited.

The Christmas season was once again the busiest period of the year. Specifically, 24,151 people chose these venues as a cultural and leisure option, compared to 20,637 in 2024, an increase of 17%. Highlights included the Nativity Scene and the Christmas concert held at the Caños del Peral Museum, as well as the historical simulator installed at Chamartín station. The network also participated in regional cultural initiatives such as La Noche de los Libros (Book Night), Madrid Otra Mirada (A Different View of Madrid) and Open House.

ONGOING INCREASE OF VISITORS SINCE 2022

Since 2022, this initiative has gained an average of 10,000 visits per year, an increase of over 30% in three years. These figures were boosted by commemorative events, such as the exhibition held at the Real Casa de Correos in 2024 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Antonio Palacios, known as the architect of Metro de Madrid, which attracted a further 22,334 visitors.

In 2022, the company also launched the Museum Passport, a document that invites locals and tourists to visit and learn about eight major historical and artistic sites in the underground. In addition to the five museum spaces, it includes the Gran Vía exhibition, the Tirso de Molina foyer and the Carpetana Palaeontological Centre. Since its launch, 12,472 passports have been issued.

All visits to the museums are free of charge and can be booked on www.museosmetromadrid.es, where detailed information and virtual tours of Metro's historical heritage can also be accessed from anywhere in the world.
