The Community of Madrid places the Metro facilities among the key locations for the audiovisual industry with 23 film shoots in 2025
The Community of Madrid consolidates the Madrid underground facilities as one of the key locations for the audiovisual industry, with a total of 23 shootings carried out in 2025. Throughout the year, more than 1,200 professionals participated in these productions, which accumulated close to 200 hours of filming.
Among the most outstanding projects is the film adaptation of Ashes in the Mouth, based on the novel by Brenda Navarro, for which the Mexican director Diego Luna chose Barrio del Pilar as one of the many locations where the story takes place, filmed between Madrid, Barcelona and Mexico City.
Moreover, Fernando González Molina filmed scenes for Mi querida señorita, a production linked to Los Javis and written by Alana S. Portero, in Núñez de Balboa. At the same station, Juan Cavestany and Álvaro Fernández Armero filmed sequences of the series Grande de España, starring Antonio de la Torre as Leandro, a marquis obsessed with obtaining the noble title that gives the fiction its name.
For its part, Herrera Oria became another of the audiovisual epicentres of the year, hosting the filming of La última canción, directed by María Lorente Becerra. Along with the Paco de Lucía station, it also served as the location for Carlos Therón's action comedy La maleta, as well as for scenes from Los Protegidos, under the direction of Oriol Ferrer, and the third season of El Inmortal.
Metro de Madrid's international relevance was also reinforced in 2025 with foreign productions. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon filmed in the old Noviciado corridor and in the Plaza de España station, transformed to recreate environments with an apocalyptic aesthetic. Similarly, several of the sequences of Has Fallen 2 were shot at the Estadio Metropolitano station.
The advertising industry has once again found a unique showcase in the Madrid underground. Firms such as Oysho, L'Oréal, Bosch, BBVA, Fotocasa and Airbus have chosen its facilities for their campaigns combining image, mobility and modernity.
Metro de Madrid facilitates these shootings, guaranteeing safety, technical coordination and the normal provision of the service at all times, offering solutions that are adapted to the needs of each production. The activity recorded in 2025 reinforces its role as one of Spain's great urban film sets and as a dynamic reflection of the cultural and creative transformation of the Community of Madrid.
