The Community of Madrid has received more than 5,000 visits to the Metro Cómic exhibition, a journey through vignettes, in just three months since its première in the emblematic Nave de Motores de Pacífico. This was announced by the Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo today, who visited this space in which the underground becomes the protagonist of the ninth art.

“Metro is part of the lives of the people of Madrid, it bears witness to our daily lives and there are many authors who have been inspired by one of its stations to shape their stories, as we can see in this exhibition,” said Rodrigo. Through this exhibition, the metropolitan company brings together its own publications and national and international works that have converted facilities and trains of different metros into narrative scenarios.

La Nave de Motores, which is part of the Metro Museums and which received more than 16,000 people in 2025, has hosted this free exhibition since last December, which combines the art of comics with the culture of urban transport. “Without a doubt, it is an opportunity to learn about this proposal and, at the same time, one of the most emblematic spaces in the history of the underground, the work of the architect Antonio Palacios,” added the counsellor.

The tour, which is divided into different thematic areas, begins with the Fantasy travel in metro, which is inspired by the first comic published by the public company in 1980, which invited us to discover the underground system and imaginary destinations. During the visit, users can also learn about Metrographs: Metro stories, energy and Madrid, a heritage project that uses comics to tell the origins of the metropolitan company and its link with electricity, through intertwined stories. 

Metro Comic is one of the temporary exhibitions organised by the underground in the different spaces that are part of the Metro Museums. Rodrigo recalled that the five historic sites — Chamberí, Caños del Peral, Nave de Motores, Chamartín and the old Pacífico hall — received more than 125,000 visits last year, a figure that consolidates their potential within the region's cultural offerings.

The exhibition will be available until April 7 and can be discovered free of charge both through a guided tour and free form, on the schedule: Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm; Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm; and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Interested persons only have to make a prior reservation on the website.
